What we do
Facilities Services has a total of 217 full-time employees working toward keeping all district buildings safe, clean, and comfortable while striving to extend their usable life. The area for schools and support facilities is approximately 3.1 million square feet. This department provides custodial and maintenance services to 26 schools and 5 support buildings located on 630 acres. This department’s maintenance and cost avoidance responsibilities include: implementation of energy saving measures, lawn care, maintenance of building interiors and exteriors, asphalt, concrete, playgrounds, and athletic fields. The use of technology provides the department the ability to perform both preventative and, when necessary, reactive maintenance in a timely manner. Forms of technology used by the department include a computerized work order system, AutoCAD, Metrix, and a building automation system. The building automation system monitors heating, ventilation, and air conditioning throughout the district in an effort to save energy.
